A Nepali mother and her two children were found dead Wednesday morning, after being exiled from their family home as part of a criminalized practice where women and girls are made to sleep alone when menstruating.

In sub-zero winter temperatures, Amba Bohora, 35, and her sons aged seven and nine, are believed to have constructed a small fire inside a tiny wooden hut close to their home in rural western Nepal. By the morning all three were dead.https://edition.cnn.com/2019/01/10/health/menstrual-hut-death-nepal-intl/index.html?utm_medium=social&utm_term=link&utm_content=2019-01-10T12%3A32%3A04&utm_source=fbCNNi

This is a heartbreaking news for me. I pitied the women who still suffer from this isolation because of an outdated belief.

I think men too should be kept in an isolated cave when they experience nocturnal penile emissions.

I went to culinary school in the early 80s in San Francisco, (That' s in the USA folks!) all the chef/teachers were European males. The French chefs told the few of us women that were students there, that we could not/should not touch the beef (butcher) during our “time of the month” because it would go bad. It was also a “known fact” that if we made emulsified sauces during that time the sauce would break. So crazy, period related superstitions are not exclusive to 3rd world countries.

Yep. We joked about it...especially during finals...so if our sauce broke, we had a medical excuse. 😂
