Rise of the No-warning Divorce

I'd be lying if I said I saw it coming," says Emma*."We were busy parents and professionals. We didn't really argue. There were ups and downs, but nothing that said 'unhappy'."

It was Boxing Day, after what Emma thought had been the perfect Christmas, when her husband turned to her and announced he was leaving. She was 39, they'd been together since they were teenagers and they had a nine-year-old son. He told her,"I can't do this any more," and admitted that there was someone else.https://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/life-and-relationships/i-felt-as-if-the-person-i-knew-died-the-rise-of-the-no-warning-divorce-20181113-p50fq3.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwAR1FsTDDVDe807UF1N0Zajg8SUsnkMVbo2dDqK8fESTf2uF3NaFgJKSC5vQ#Echobox=1542483593

Sadly but true, many couples are facing divorce and what's worst than a no warning one. As much as we want to hold on to the relationship if one is not happy anymore, what can we do but to let them go.

How can we avoid this from happening? And what could be the possible reason for such cases of no-warning divorce?

For every person who “never saw it coming” there is the other person in that relationship saying “I tried to talk to them about it but they never listened”.

I even said numerous times"I'm falling out of love with you" 3 yrs later I left and he was stunned and shocked and crying. I was only dumbfounded that he hadn't heard any of it over 3 yrs, but my feelings were dead. His tears just disgusted me at that point. I was so happy to be on my own.

Disagree sorry. I had no warning. We had even renewed marriage vows 2 years earlier to celebrate 25 years marriage.

That’s the point, you think you had no warning, but maybe that’s not what she thought. You can’t know, because you’re not her. A lot can happen in 2 years.

I disagree with your statement completely. As someone who knows couples that say they tried to talk about it with their partner but actually really didn't. They tip toed around the issue or said some similar stuff but not really what they meant.
