A social worker says more must be done to stop"private companies profiting from our children" who are in care.

The call to arms came from Matt Clayton who worked with seven amazing youngsters on an emotional documentary to give an insight into the lives of some of the city's most vulnerable, and often hidden, children.

The programme - Superkids: Breaking Away from Care - was aired on Channel 4 last night (Wednesday) and saw the youngsters share stories about their harrowing experiences of growing up in care.

The kids worked with one of the country's most celebrated poets Lemn Sissay MBE - who was also in care - to turn their struggles into poetry they can be proud of.https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/superkids-coventry-channel-4-15480731

As Matt Clayton said,"They deserve more as these children are our children, are your children. These children of the state are our future." I can't agree more.

They send you to care to give you a"brighter future", but my future is bright in spite of the care system, not because of it.

These children have so much ability and potential and they just need support to develop it.

What a poor excuse for a human being you are. I should see a psychiatrist if I were you, since such a lack of empathy is indicative of psychopathy.

She says I remember social promised contact with my Dad ..that never happened..To me sounds like she is squarely putting all blame on the social ..mmmh ..maybe it's easier for her to do that ..than to deal with the fact that her Dad for whatever reason was not able to make contact ..or was perhaps not safe ...Anyway having been in care does not have to define you,...Hope all the young care leavers can heal and move on with their lives..
