Sugar keeps you consuming it regardless of the amount of food you have eaten for 2 reasons. The first is that it is actually biologically addicting – sugar acts on your reward centre in the brain to give you a sense of pleasure when you eat it. Sugar keeps you eating more food, in general, is by keeping you hungry.

I went COMPLETELY sugar AND salt-free for 8 months. My taste buds completely changed. The inflammation obviously went down, and I introduced just a little bit of sugars back into my diet such as ketchup and some dipping sauces, but, I no longer want it in excessive amounts.

Too much sugar just sounds disgusting to me. I love REAL food now. Yes, I'm a vegan, but, that doesn't matter. It's my personal preference, I feel best on it, dairy made my stomach hurt, I had awful acid reflux after eating eggs and meat just never seemed appealing to me anymore after I started dieting. I can't control myself when it comes to anything, and it's nice to find a balanced diet for myself.

Fruits and berries are healthy because they are fiber-bound. Try eating more than a couple of apples, you likely won't be craving more apples, or sugar.

I decided to quit sugar and gosh i felt cranky for 2 weeks, developed fever, considered going back to it, but thank heavens i had the strength to pull through. I feel so great not eating junk food anymore, I get my treat from fruits and dark chocolate. It is truly a great lifestyle.

As a type 1 diabetic, I"accidentally" found out that keeping a food diary that you update on the go, and not after the fact, keeps me from over eating or eating things in larger portions than I intended. I weigh the food, calculate the carbs and take the required dose of insulin for the food - now I know exactly how much I will eat.

I wonder if it's possible to find a drug that makes you hate sugar.
