They've increased productivity by 300% & are now doing 70% of the work in the warehouse.

Why does everyone hate on these robots over jobs? It’s capitalism. Smoke or get smoked. If the goal of YOUR business was to reach maximum efficiency to generate maximum profits, and you KNEW that a machine could outperform a human 9/10 times, why tf wouldn’t you go with a machine? Y’all need to learn new skills, move forward with the market, and understand capitalism is about efficiency and profits.

Machines replacing human labor. More efficiently moving single use stuff that's been made via a destructive extractive processes and that will end up in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. NOT IMPRESSED.

These sort of over mechanised businesses will have detrimental effects on the economy in the future since money does not come from nothing... 60 jobs effected here and there adds up, simply to save pennies from the retail price. In 20 years time, when a huge chunk of the worlds un-skilled labour force are not working but living off benefits, which ultimately come from the taxation cycle of the ever decreasing workforce.

Without the mass population earning money, there is no spending, which then makes these retail giants pointless. Obviously, there is a place for robots that do intricate without safety risks, that humans can't do as well such as in car factories. Then again these robots in car factories need humans to manage them and maintain them since they are very mechanical, so jobs are created there.

Do we really want to replace thousands of warehouse workers with robots? What's the world going to be like in 50 years? An entire population of dirt-poor peasants whos lively hood has been replaced by robots - but then how will there be an economy in poorer nations with no one earning money.

Just imagine how many families could have a decent living if they were hired instead of robots.

How is this any different from Amazon's Kiva robots? Looks the same and does the same thing.

I hope that we will become smarter and stop our overuse of useless things!

The power of progress. We can now ship even more useless products even more quickly to all corners of the world to be used once or twice and then thrown away..

It makes you wonder how people will be treated and valued if they are no longer used for 'work'? My guess is very little value at all..disposable even.
