Milan, in Northern Italy, wants to change its colors and go green by planting 3 million trees by 2030. The ambitious plan to plant 30 percent more trees in the metropolitan area will be a welcome change.

Milan officials believe that the trees will absorb 5 million ton of carbon dioxide – four-fifths of what the city produces – and reduce harmful pollutants by 3,000 tons over a ten-year period

Should be compulsory on all new buildings, I can't see anyone who wouldn't agree.

Meanwhile Gold Coast City Council and Aquis Turf Club vote to fill in a 2.75 freshwater lake, teeming with birdlife and home to black swans - for a car park? Qld State government passes the buck. Slow hand clap.

May be we could follow their example. Plant more trees and shrubs.
Urban infill means loss of trees, shrubs, birds bees, butterflies and a lot more tar and mortar.
Do I say leading to extinctions and a hotter world.

Great to see bits of positive news. In a primal sense we are pre disposed to negative bias for survival and often we miss the good things that happen incrementally. Life for many has become immeasurably better in the last century. The climate, environment and population are huge issues not to be underestimated but we can overcome. Well done Milan.

It’s time to cover all the wretched concrete we’ve spread everywhere and cool it all down with trees and shrubs. How good would that be ?
