A small boy hauls enthusiastically on his fishing rod. The line flies up and a needle-spined fish strikes him in the eye. Desperate to stay outdoors, he ignores the pain, but his sight deteriorates over the following months. He continues to pursue his love of nature but, now blind in one eye, he is confined to studying creatures that are easy to see: insects. He grows to become the global authority on ants, and in later life is given the moniker ‘the father of biodiversity’.https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2018/08/biodiversity-isn-t-just-pretty-it-future-proofs-our-world?utm_source=Facebook%20Videos&utm_medium=Facebook%20Videos&utm_campaign=Facebook%20Video%20Blogs

Biodiversity boosts ecosystem productivity where each species, no matter how small, all have an important role to play. For example, A larger number of plant species means a greater variety of crops. Greater species diversity ensures natural sustainability for all life forms. This is why we should pay attention to the importance of biodiversity.

How fabulously noble...fancy building islands for the environment and wildlife instead of missile bases! So proud of my Dutch heritage.

Since you seem to be the only person who has negative thoughts about creating islands to assist the environment, perhaps you could post something that backs up your claim that they are ‘no asset to anything ‘ instead of just chiding me.

Hmmm, it’s not all that nice...The islands are made of heavy polluted mud, dredged from different harbors. Now there are a lot more cormorants and they eat all the fish away. This area is fresh water since 1933, the area was still busy finding its new balance. Now this is a big interruption as we think we can make nature. Shouldn’t we care more for this freshwater basin? Maybe freshwater will be important in the following years...

A lot more has to be done to restore nature's diversity in The Netherlands!

In India we have nothing to do because we already destored everything.
