Somebody once asked Warren Buffett about his secret to success. Buffett pointed to a stack of books and said,

Read 500 pages like this every day. That’s how knowledge works. It builds up, like compound interest. All of you can do it, but I guarantee not many of you will. I want to say reading 200 books a year is an amazing thing. But the truth is, it’s not. Anybody can do it.

All it takes is some simple math and the right tools.

1. Do not quit before you start
2. Do the simple math
3. Find the time
4. Execute

Even before Facebook I don't even read 100 books. There were Nintento, PS One, Karaoke etc. A time waster is a time waster

And in the time you read 200 books, think about how many people you can be helping out, or perfecting your craft. And, in all that time, think about how much time you can be spending on meal prep and exercise to get that body you always wanted.

What's to say one doesn't read the equivalent of 200 books...or more! Why do books get all the glory? Personally, I listen to books. I can multitask and do not enjoy the thought of sitting and sipping tea and reading. Makes my butt hurt. But what doesn't hurt is being productive and listening to a book or podcast by one of my favorite authors?

But the only way to find out these stats is on social media!

Reading is a waste of time. I know, because I wasted decades reading endlessly. Action and real world experience is everything.

I totally agree! I’m an avid reader, or was, before social media and the digital world.
